In 1999 I co-founded Omega Logic, which launched electronic mobile phone top-ups in Britain alongside the mobile phone networks and other "top-up solution providers".
By 2005 Omega Logic was processing £450 million of top-ups per annum in Britain and the USA, generating £25 million of net revenue, and I completed the disposal of my interests in the company to First Data Corporation.
I then began to invest in startups in various sectors including software-as-a-service (SaaS), ecommerce, fintech and digital publishing. I was awarded British Angel Investor of the Year in 2011 (UK Business Angels Association).
I served on the Business Taskforce for David Cameron, the former British Prime Minister, and published a report on EU Red Tape in 2013. Debretts named me one of the "500 most influential people in Britain" in 2015 and I've also enjoyed a number of TV appearances, including on the BBC's show "The Apprentice - You're Fired".
I was honoured with a CBE in June 2013 by HM the Queen, for services to business.
